Innominate releases new device management software for industrial firewalls and remote maintenance
Faster roll-out of remote maintenance for industrial network security with Innominate Device Manager (IDM)
Berlin, 28 November 2006 - Innominate Security Technologies AG, the industrial security specialist, today announced the Innominate Device Manager, an enhanced centralised management application that provides convenient administration of Innominate mGuard security appliances. "The template-based approach of the Innominate Device Manager is particularly well-suited for the setup and organisation of uniformly configured security devices such as firewalls that protect industrial production networks," said Andreas Beierer, Marketing Director at Innominate. "With the help of the template, many devices can be efficiently configured at the same time from the central management platform."
The market for industrial security is now clearly gravitating toward decentralised systems that are placed directly within production networks as remote systems or intelligent protective mechanisms. However centralised solutions such as the Innominate Device Manager are ideally suited for the roll-out process and the day-to-day management of the decentralised appliances.
Application example "remote maintenance of machines"
Innominate's mGuard Tele Service enables secure remote diagnosis and maintenance via the Internet for various tasks, from an individual machine to a complete production facility. "A central requirement in the installation and operation of remote maintenance connections via secure Internet tunnels is easy configuration and administration," explains Andreas Birkenfeld, Division Manager Construction System Technology at Koenig & Bauer AG, a globally active manufacturer of printing machines. "With the Innominate Device Manager, we can efficiently plan and conduct even large-scale roll-outs of many distributed appliances."
