Innominate joins German VDMA, association for machine builders
Berlin, 30 January 2007 - Innominate has become full member of the VDMA (Verband Deutscher Maschinen- und Anlagenbau e.V.), an association of German machine builders. It has joined two of the organisation's technical committees: Electrical Automation and the Software committee.
The VDMA represents a network of 3,000 industrial companies in the engineering industry and is an active player in Brussels at EU level, representing the interests of the German and European engineering industry.
Membership of the VDMA presents a platform from which Innominate can demonstrate its technology leadership in the areas of remote maintenance via the internet, and industrial security expertise. Traditional machine maintenance uses modem technology. However, remote maintenance, which utilises broadband connectivity, emerged as a new business process in 2006 and is ripe for accelerated growth. Figures from the VDMA show that the German machine builders' market experienced strong growth in 2006, with an 18 per cent increase in November 2006 compared with the previous year.
"Remote maintenance via secured Internet and broadband is a new business area and machine builders and end users are still discovering the benefits that it can bring. Participation in the VDMA and in particular membership of its Forum for Teleservice and Remote Maintenance will allow us to develop our product in line with end users' requirements. We're particularly keen to do so in the area of management software, which is entirely reliant upon feedback from end users," said Torsten Rössel, Director Business Development.
