Staged cyber attack reveals vulnerability in power grid
"This staged attack highlights the very real threat that faces US utility companies, and I am amazed that no adequate cyber defence programme has been put in place yet," said Joachim Fietz, CEO Innominate. "In the past, people assumed switching off systems was the worst case scenario. However, following the experiment it is very clear that the ramifications could be much more severe should an individual or group have control of the equipment."
"There are already products on the market, such as Innominate's mGuard series which can secure utility companies and manufacturing plants against the threat of infiltration. We urge the US government to begin implementing policies to address this threat as there is no excuse for failing to do so," added Fietz.
