SkySetter – cost effective and secure voice/data/video communication via satellite links
SkySetter provides you the unique combination of secure communication (firewall IPsec VPN) and PEP (Performance Enhancing Proxy) functionality - for efficient and cost effective IP communication via satellite links or any other link with a higher latency. PEP provides for your data link, your Internet access link:

• TCP acceleration - use 100% of the bandwidth of you link
• HTTP pre-fetching - allows faster browsing the Internet
• On the fly data compression - save communication cost by up to 40%

SkySetter will be used in corporate networks - mostly in combination with VPN - to link branch offices to the headquarters in a secure way and to save communication cost. However - user like Internet Service Providers (ISP), Internet Cafes, Corporate offices and NGOs who do not require VPN functionality can take advantage just of the cost saving features of SkySetter. Please keep in mind - you can reduce your monthly communication cost by up to 40%!

The use of SkySetter requires a receiver - the PEP server. the PEP server is either already installed in the Internet (Public PEP service) or must be installed in the Intranet of the user (Private PEP). Public PEP service is already available for everyone and will be used by subscribers who want to take advantage of the TCP acceleration, HTTP prefetching and data compression - and do not require the VPN functionality. Private PEP will be used by subscribers interested in adding VPN to the cost saving features. No matter if Public or Private PEP is used - the subscriber will receive a preconfigured SkySetter box, its installation does not require technical know how.
mGuard has been approved by Inmarsat for use with BGAN services.
